Antigone

*The event has already taken place on this date: Sun, 03/29/2026
Set in the ancient city of Thebes, Antigone is a powerful Greek tragedy by Sophocles that explores the conflict between personal conscience and state law. After a brutal civil war, Antigone, the courageous daughter of Oedipus, defies the decree of her uncle, King Creon, by burying her brother Polyneices, who has been branded a traitor and denied funeral rites. Through its timeless themes of justice, loyalty, fate, and the dangers of absolute power, Antigone challenges audiences to consider the price of standing up for one’s beliefs and the tragic costs of human stubbornness.
